That adorable, sweet face, is the face of my 5 year old son Milo. He is all handsomeness, sweetness, and maturity, that is until we have to wake him up and get him ready for kindergarten in the morning. He is our oldest child, and never having gone to preschool, this getting up, ready, and out the door in time for school is completely uncharted territory for our family. In all truthfulness, it has been anything but a smooth transition. Being woken up and on time restraints, somehow transforms my usually sweet and kind hearted son into Mr Hyde. He becomes an emotional unpredictable tornado of tears, screams and unpleasantness, the likes of which my husband and I have never encountered before and which we have felt completely unequipped to deal with. We have also discovered that our usual easy going good naturedness dissolves in the face of our son's inner Hyde, and we ourselves, become our own Hydes and unleash a storm of threats, persuasions, and unpleasantness that have ultimately failed to resolve the problem.
