All My Children: My Real Life Soap Opera Worthy Story.
Anyone who knows my husband really well, knows that Soap Operas were a guilty pleasure of his for years. He worked swing shift and graveyard for the better part of the first eight years of our marriage, which meant that he was home in the afternoons. He soon discovered that eating lunch while enjoying an afternoon Soap suited him really well. He convinced a neighborhood boy, who was my brother's friend, and was 7 years my husband's junior to accompany him sometimes. (I'm not

How our responses can either ignite or defuse difficult situations.
That adorable, sweet face, is the face of my 5 year old son Milo. He is all handsomeness, sweetness, and maturity, that is until we have to wake him up and get him ready for kindergarten in the morning. He is our oldest child, and never having gone to preschool, this getting up, ready, and out the door in time for school is completely uncharted territory for our family. In all truthfulness, it has been anything but a smooth transition. Being woken up and on time restraints, s

Low Carb Almond Flour and Flax Seed Bread and Egg Quiche
Good morning Venturers! Bread is one of my food obsessions. I love anything with flour- fresh rolls, bagels, pita, and tortillas, so it seemed impossible for me to give up bread all together when I decided to eat healthier. That is when I went on a journey to discover a bread without the bad, but that still tasted good. It wasn't easy, and my attempts to make a healthy bread didn't always work out (let's just say that some attempts turned out completely inedible) but I finall

Fall Favorites: Healthy Pumpkin Spice Bread
Every year when fall rolls around, I find myself wanting pumpkin everything, and this year is no exception. Today the boys and I, cooked up some healthy pumpkin spice bread to enjoy. It's super easy to make and healthy. It's not really sweet like the pumpkin bread you would find in a store, but it's got a lot of spice and is filled with real healthy ingredients. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Words matter: Speak to yourself like you matter
It seems to me that there has always been this unspoken belief that if a person, especially a woman, spoke positively about him/herself then it meant that the person was conceded. So, maybe you like me, tried to avoid looking conceded and learned instead to put yourself down and never accept a compliment. These small little negativisms grew, and soon, I found myself thinking and vocalizing harsh criticisms whenever I fell short of my expectations or made mistakes.

Why yoga is not for you, or at least why you tell yourself it's not.
I believe one of the biggest misconceptions about yoga, and what holds a lot of people back from trying it, is the belief that it is exclusively for the flexible, the thin and the fit. Perhaps it is all the pictures we see on Instagram of amazingly beautiful and thin yogis folding themselves in half while balancing on one hand and touching their head with their foot that gives us the perception that yoga is only for a elite few, but just as a lot of things on Instragram, that
